How They Work - Double or Nothing - Double/Missed Trip Relays

double/missed trip relay
stock market

Stock Market is a little odd, but the main idea was carried forward through all the d/n games. Each card has a double trip and a missed trip relay. If you try for double and win, the double trip relay trips. If things go more typically, the missed trip relay flops down to record for posterity you are loser.

There is a set of double/missed trip relays for each card in the game. The circuits highlighted in blue and yellow are just for card #1. Cards #2-#6 are the same.

Circuit Details

We just care about the blue and yellow circuits for the moment. When a win is detected, the double delay relay is powered and the switch is already flopped over to direct things along the blue circuit. If the double win #1 powers indicating a successful attempt to double, the switch in the blue circuit closes and the double trip relay trips.

The box section the blue line is passing through is the 1-2 search disc. The blue path is only connected when the search wipers are out of their locked/home slot and are positioned in the arc of rivets on the contact plate corresponding to the card/lines being checked for a win.

If the double attempt fails, the double win #1 relay never powers and after the double delay relay circuit discharges, the switch flops back to connect the yellow path and the missed trip relay trips. Note that once the double trip relay trips, the associated missed trip relay can't - the yellow circuit is disconnected by a switch.
